This performance is included in the long term project : Apparemment, ce qui ne se voit pas.
It is about showing dance in unexpected places. We want to invert the process of our previous choreographies: work at first the dance upstream and secondly, provoke a meeting of the dance with a place.
It is a question, in a double movement, of putting at stake the imagination and the reality: to create a dance and imagine a place, form a mental image, a dreamed space where we would like to dance.
Then search for this place in a city. Dance in this real space, by joining its constraints, observe what it transforms, reveals, how it makes the dance resound... It is the body of the dancer, the solo, the «smallest», the only and solitary body, that we want to confront to the «biggest», the space of the multiple and the others, the big cities.
Le Nom du Lieu, like the other projects in Apparemment ce qui ne se voit pas shows us a street, a neighbourhood, somewhere else through dance, video and live music. We project images taken in other cities, other places like a scenery on the walls. We superimpose the pictures, accumulate them like posters that we stick together, on each other. Sometimes we also include images from the place where we perform so we can show them together with similar images from other countries.
